In 2025, the Centre for Genomic Sciences organized a science fair to commemorate the sequencing and public release of the Negro Jamapa common bean genome, together with the launch of the Phabase database. Held at Jardín Borda in Cuernavaca, Morelos, the event was open to the public and featured artisans and traditional cooks highlighting aspects related to the common bean.
